Sounds like a big subject hey… fears? Fears can be big or small, they can be very personal, or they can be social fears, fears created by society to ‘keep us safe’. The one thing they have in common is that they often stop us from doing something, they hold us back. You may be thinking, of course they hold us back they keep us safe from risk and harm, so in reality our fears can be a good thing, a way of protecting ourselves? That is certainly one way of looking at them.

What if they were the one thing stopping us from living our lives fully and on purpose, a life in line with our values, a life we have always dreamed of? I sometimes wonder how many of us have fears holding us back, however big or small, and what we could achieve if we could only take them away?

Yesterday was national #FaceYourFearsDays which is what inspired me to write this blog. There are lots of different ways of looking at fear and some people thrive on it, you see the adrenaline junkies who want to scare themselves that little bit more each time just to feel alive! Then there are those of us who feel they have fears which are keeping them stuck and preventing them from doing things, the range is huge and it doesn’t matter how big or small they are, what matters is the impact they have on your life.

I don’t know about you, but I am someone who constantly faces my fears, again big or small, from being scared of spiders and driving in the snow, to travelling the world alone and jumping out of a perfectly good plane. I find the process of facing my fears allows me to grow, to experience life more fully and to have fewer things which hold me back. There are many ways you can address your fears and coaching is just one of them, my one of choice.

I would love you to take a moment to think of something which scares you, one of your fears which you feel holds you back, then think of one way you could overcome it? Now you have thought about it, I am challenging you to try, see how it feels to step that little bit further out of your comfort zone. I would love you to comment below or share your experiences with me via email, go and be brave face that fear and see how your life changes! I believe in you and know you can do it!

If you feel like you would like some help, do please get in touch for an informal, no obligation chat, or maybe even book yourself an introductory session, 30 minutes of your time could just change your life!

Until next time,

Emma.
