When working with people, something which always comes up is limiting beliefs. These are when people think they cannot achieve their goals, they are not confident, they are not good enough and that they cannot have a good life work balance when they are running their own business or in a high pressured job. Does this sound familiar? This has inspired me to write this blog, because it is really important not to believe everything you think, what is even more important is not to believe what everyone else thinks!
If it does sound familiar, what I want you to think about is where these limiting beliefs come from? What is underlying for you to think that way in the first place? For some people it is fear of the unknown, for some it is fear of what some people may think, for some it is an overwhelming feeling that they do not deserve to be happy, confident, successful…. You name it as this will be different for everyone. Now is the time to stop believing what you think! One thing I can tell you right now is that you do deserve to be happy, confident and successful!

The next thing I notice is that, the limiting beliefs are often what everyone else thinks! What do I mean by this? Can you ever think of a time when you were excited to do something and someone else told you not to, or that you cannot do something, and came up with a list of reasons? They all sounded pretty plausible right? Of course they did, because the person telling you that, absolutely believes them, that persons owns those fears and concerns, those limiting beliefs belong to them. There are also the other times, when people tell you that you are something, something you don’t identify with, but believe it because someone else told you it is true, someone else thinks that. Guess what, you don’t have to believe what they think either, just because you or someone else thinks something, doesn’t mean it is true!

So next time you think I cannot do something; I want you to stop believing yourself! If someone else thinks something, you already know what to do! So remember, don’t believe everything you or anyone else thinks, anything is possible!
