What is your dream? I like to ask this question, because everyone is different and all dreams, however big or small are really important.
I have always had the same dream; the main one is to live a life where I am happy, simple really! Another part of that is to travel and feel free! I am very lucky, to have already lived my dream in many ways, 10 years ago I was about to head home after a year out travelling the world, seeing and doing amazing things and meeting wonderful people. However, I didn’t really want to come home, but circumstances dictated I had too.
I remember thinking, I need a new dream, and what I came up with was a modified version of the first one, to travel the world, but this time to work and do it, or to live in a different country for a while. First I planned to try and see as much of Europe as I could and study for a degree, which again, I had always wanted to do (here is a link to another blog about that), but would also give me more options, especially if I decided to apply to move to Australia, which was a possible part of the plan
Since then, I gained my degree, set up my businesses and realised with the world being made so much smaller and accessible with the internet, I could combine running my business, which I love, with my other love and value of freedom and travel.
Over the past few years I have been toying with the idea of going for it, but it then, went through the what ifs; what if it goes wrong, what if it doesn’t work out… and the list goes on, it is all pretty normal to go through this process and healthy to do so too. I even considered just accepting life as it is and making the most of it, because let’s face it, Norfolk is pretty amazing and I do love it, however there has always been this calling to travel, this little niggle and the thing for me which is way worse than making a decision and it not quite going to plan… is living with regrets, wondering what could have been, if only…
So after many long conversations with some wonderfully supportive friends and working it through with my coach, yes I have one too, I decided to go for it! It is scary and exciting in equal measure, but I have never regretted buying that ticket or making this decision, which can only mean it is the right choice for me. My clients have also been really supportive and I am grateful for this, I work remotely anyway, so nothing will change, apart from I will be in a different place each time! In fact I feel very humbled that many of them are more excited for me than I am… which really warms my heart.
So from in a few weeks I will be boarding a plane and I don’t know if or when I will be back. I will head to Asia and see where my journey takes me; I love this sense of total freedom, no plan, no timescale, just me and my backpack and lots of exciting experiences to come. However this time, I will be working with my amazing clients, meeting new clients and truly living my life on purpose. I will be taking a few well-earned weeks out to begin with, getting back to the coaching from mid-April!
I don’t mind admitting I am a little nervous, but I am also really excited. I am also pleased to be able to share this journey with you all, especially my amazing clients and wonderfully supportive friends, being able to show you my vulnerability in this, but also my courage in going for it anyway and going outside of my comfort zone in so many ways to follow my heart and my dreams, shows you that I not only do I talk the talk, but walk the walk too, and it might just inspire others to follow their hearts and dreams too, whatever they may be.
If this touched you or resonated with you, I would love to hear from you and if you would like to explore your dreams or your life purpose, please do get in touch or book yourself a free 10 minute call or 30 minute introductory session with me, it could just change your life!
Until next time, Emma
