I am writing this on the Autumnal Equinox when, in the northern hemisphere, we welcome the new season of Autumn and bid farewell to Summer.

You may have guessed I go by the natural cycles of the equinoxes and solstices, which are usually on or around the 21st of September, December, March and June.  But sometimes the dates change and this year, 2023, the autumnal equinox is on the 23rd of September.

I see the changes in the seasons as a prompt to reassess and reset, to take time to review how I am feeling, what I have achieved so far this year, and to set my intentions for the coming season.

To me autumn is a great time to slow down after a busy summer of gigs, festivals, camping and all the events Summer brings.  It is a time to rest and recharge in the darker evenings, to make progress on little projects at home, to appreciate and show gratitude of what the year has brought so far, whether they be things we consider blessings, or the challenges we may have faced which have given us a chance to grow, to learn, to develop.

I have experienced lots of changes and shifts this year so far, ones which haven’t always been easy, but for which I am grateful.  I intend to put aside some time to make a list today of all that I am grateful for so far this year, but also in life in general, because I believe that if we choose to, we are able to learn and grow from all of our experiences, especially the more challenging ones.

The thing is we need to be open to learning, to growing, to evolving.  However, choosing this approach is challenging, it is not the easy route, the easy route is to stay as we are.  Either choice is perfectly acceptable, so long as you choose it consciously and you feel it is the right choice for you.

Now it is your turn…  I am curious…

What are you choosing?  What are you grateful for in this moment?  What have you learnt so far this year?  What have you overcome?  What are you yet to tackle?  What are the things you have been avoiding?  The things which you know that if you dealt with them, you would feel better, less stressed, happier, more relaxed?

When have four more months of the calendar year, we have 3 months of Autumn, before Winter arrives, what would you like to be different by then?

As always, if you are curious about how coaching may work for you, please do get in touch, because you don’t have to do this alone, because that can feel hard!

I love helping people to be happier, whatever that may look like you can drop me an email or give me a call plus  I also offer a free no obligation 10 minute discovery call to chat through what coaching is, what you are looking for, what is the right thing for you, because it may or may not be working with me, but that is something we can work out together.
